In the first season of ELBOW Talks, we kicked off the series with the theme Embodied Knowledge. The theme was inspired by our first workshop in May 2024, and the Season 1 was organised in autumn 2024.
In Season 1, we focused on these questions:
Tacit, embodied knowledge
How did tacit, embodied knowledge relate to empirical scientific knowledge in different historical ages?
Individual experiences
How did existing cultural scripts, religious dogmas, or scientific worldviews shape embodied knowledge on a practical, individual, experienced level?
Intersectional power structures
What sort of (intersectional) power structures influenced whose embodied knowledge was deemed important, trustworthy, appropriate, or scientifically valid?
