We are currently looking to hire a Postdoctoral Researcher for fixed-term employment from September 1, 2023 to February 28, 2027.  

The postdoctoral researcher will be a member of our four-person project team. The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to two work packages:

1. Investigating the embodied experiences of electro-medical patients and examining how embodiment conditioned the patients’ feelings, experiences, and epistemological understandings.
2. Investigating the nature and popularity of the onto-epistemologies on which medical electricity was based.

The postdoctoral researcher’s individual project can be fine-tuned according to their interests and experience, but it should lie within the project’s scope and concentrate on German source material between the years 1740 and 1840. The appointee should be an expert in history and philosophy of science and medicine and/or intellectual and cultural history, with extensive experience on working on eighteenth-century German sources.
