ELBOW project was involved in the International Society for Cultural History (ISCH) Annual Conference in Potsdam, 4-6 September. Our researchers Edna Huotari and Stefan Schröder attended the conference and represented the ELBOW team successfully.

ELBOW project had a panel in the conference with the title ”Medical electricity and embodied knowledge in the long eighteenth century”. In the panel, Edna and Stefan presented their papers and got feedback of them.
Edna’s paper: ”A perfect storm: Electricity, mental illness and women’s sexuality in the treatment of nymphomania between 1740-1840”
Stefan’s paper: ”Experimenting with electrotherapy: Embodied experiences within doctor-patient relations in the mid-eighteenth century”

The rest of the team was informed that Edna and Stefan enjoyed their time in Potsdam – thank you ISCH for organizing the event!
